Love Our Lakes Day

Join us for Love Our Lakes Day, a community lake cleanup hosted by the City of Tuscaloosa on Saturday, March 21, 2026, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

This hands-on, volunteer-driven event brings the community together to protect and care for our local lakes and waterways. Volunteer registration and check-in will take place at the Rock Quarry Boat Landing, at 2332 New Watermelon Rd, Tuscaloosa, AL 35406.

Druid City Arts Festival

Spring Market & Strawberry Fest

This special City of Tuscaloosa Farmers Market will feature our strawberry farmers and their harvest. Our other Farmers Market vendors will have a variety of baked and homemade goods featuring strawberries. Much like our award winning Saturday Farmers Market this event will be similar, but have a Sweet Grown Alabama Strawberry twist.

Mayor's Cup

The City of Tuscaloosa and Mayor Walt Maddox will host the 2026 Mayor’s Cup 5K for Pre-K on Saturday, April 25 at 8 a.m. in Downtown Tuscaloosa. The Mayor’s Cup raises funds for the Tuscaloosa Pre-K Initiative, which aims to expand Pre-K access for Tuscaloosa children.

The 5K is open to all ages and participants are welcome to run or walk.

Registration is now open.

Tech or Treat

Join the City of Tuscaloosa for Tech or Treat at The Gateway on Thursday, October 22, 2026, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. This free, family-friendly event invites children of all ages to trick-or-treat from table to table while exploring hands-on STEAM activities hosted by City departments and community organizations. Costumes encouraged; children must be accompanied by an adult.

Live at the Plaza

Every Friday in May & June 2026 6:00PM-9:00PM

Our popular Live at the Plaza concert series will return summer 2026! Co-presented by Bryant Bank and Coca-Cola, join us every Friday in May and June from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Government Plaza for free, live and local music. Live at the Plaza is family (and pet!) friendly, with a Kid Zone available for fun activities. Grab your crew, a picnic blanket and some folding chairs and we’ll see you there.

Sublime will also launch their very own touring music festival.

Tuesday Farmers Market

In anticipation of a bountiful summer harvest, the City of Tuscaloosa Farmers Market has expanded its weekly Farmers Market from just being on Saturday mornings to include Tuesday afternoons from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the months of June and July. Shoppers can expect a more relaxed, shop at your own pace style of market. Parking is as plentiful as are the offerings from our amazing vendors. Expect to see plenty of peaches, tomatoes, squash, baked goods, specialty artisanal beverages, and so much more.

Celebration on the River

Celebrate Independence Day and America’s 250th anniversary at Celebration on the River at the Mercedes-Benz Amphitheater on Saturday, July 4, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Presented by the City of Tuscaloosa, this free, family-friendly event will feature fireworks, a kid's zone, live music by the Tuscaloosa Symphony Orchestra, and patriotic fun for all ages.
