Tuesdays in July from 3:00PM - 7:00PM Every Saturday Year-Round from 7:00AM – 12:00PM

Celebration on the River

This Fourth of July Celebration on the River is hosted by the City of Tuscaloosa at The Mercedes-Benz Amphitheater. This free, family-friendly event includes fireworks, kid activities, live music by the Tuscaloosa Symphony Orchestra and more!

Tech or Treat

Thursday, October 24, 2024 from 6:00-8:00PM

Do you have a little princess, superhero, goblin or ghoul who loves science and technology? Similar to “trunk-or-treat,” at the City’s Tech or Treat, families go from table to table collecting candy. At each table, children are introduced to science, technology, engineering, arts and math (STEAM) opportunities by interacting with City departments and community organizations. Tech or Treat is free and open to all ages. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Holidays on the Plaza

Friday, November 29, 2024 to Monday, January 20, 2025

The City of Tuscaloosa’s seasonal ice skating rink, Holidays on the Plaza, will return to Government Plaza in downtown Tuscaloosa on November 29 and remain open until January 20. This event will feature outdoor ice skating, the Tinsel Trail benefitting Tuscaloosa’s One Place, private parties and other holiday festivities.

Druid City Arts Festival

The City of Tuscaloosa's Druid City Arts Festival (DCAF), a free two-day event highlighting local artists and musicians, is back for its 16th year at Government Plaza. Presented by Cadence Bank, DCAF is a premiere arts and music festival that educates, engages and inspires youth and adults about arts and humanities within the community. More than 80 local artists will be showcased throughout the event as well as a full music lineup, kids’ activities, educational demonstrations and food and drink concessions.

Tuscaloosa Mayor's Cup 5K for Pre-K

Saturday, April 26, 2025 at 8:00AM

The City of Tuscaloosa and Mayor Walt Maddox will host the 2025 Mayor’s Cup 5K for Pre-K on Saturday, April 26, 2025 in Downtown Tuscaloosa. The Mayor’s Cup, presented by Mercedes-Benz U.S. International raises funds for the Tuscaloosa Pre-K Initiative, which aims to expand Pre-K access for Tuscaloosa children.
